Day
01
Come up to the Tuogart Pass from Naryn, the last
town in Kyrgyz Republic. GAE guide will meet you and drive you
further down to Kashgar. Check in your hotel
Day
02 Do last shopping and your last preparation
before starting your trekking
Day 03 Start from Kashgar by bus
and climb up to the Chinese Pamir along the famous Karakorum Highway
until arrive at the end of the road, where named Tangge. But before
arriving at Tangge, you will have to climb over the highest pass
in this day. That is Subash Pass, which is about 4900 meters above
the sea level. Then you will see all your camels are waiting for
you at your first camp site which is nearby a clean stream. Our
setting up your first camp, our Chinese cooks will provide tasty
Chinese Food as your dinner.
Day
04 After your western style of breakfast,
your camels drivers start to load up your equipment on camels
and then your first trekking day starts. Because this is your
first trekking day. And people should have to need some acclimatization
training, normally we arrange not long distance but only half
a day trekking. After trekking up for several hours, you arrive
at your second camp site where named Xindi. This is a beautiful
and green camp site. A clean stream is located nearby. Of course
our cooks will provide you another delicious dinner.
Day
05 After good sleeping last night, you
will start your trekking again. Today, you may arrive at a new
place where named Langar. It takes you at least 6 hours trekking
today to arrive at your third camp site. Altitude is getting higher
(4000 m) and green land is far behind you. This camp site looks
more wilder
Day
06 Start to climb again up to the Chechelik
Pass which is 4543 meters high. The camel trail goes higher and
higher and finally disappeared into cloud ¡ On the top of this
pass, much less grass is on the group, temperature is much lower.
After lunch here, the trail approaches into flat and finally you
get your camp site, where the local people call this as Chechelik.
A big mountain range stands in front of you. This is another pass
we call it as the Yango Pass , which is 4827 meters above the
sea level.
Day
07 Continue your trekking up on the snow
slope. This pass looks more exciting and more difficult to climb.
The trail seems not easy to camels to move up, sometimes some
ropes between camels are suddenly broken because camels in front
climbing harder and faster but behind ones are not ready yet.
When you arrive on the
top of this pass, a beautiful blue lake appears into your eyes
which is lied down quietly on the other side of the pass, surrounded
by snow covered mountains, There are some big birds flying on
the lake ¡ when you reach at the lake, you will find that water
from this lake is so cold. That is great petty that your camp
site today is not by this beautiful lake. It still takes you to
trek down for another 2 hours, where we give he name as Yanbulak.
Day
08 This is a good place for people to
have a rest day here because there are some local yurts setting
down on the grassland.
Day
09 After one day sightseeing around this
beautiful grassland, you will have to continue to climb up the
last pass named Turbulung Pass on this trekking trail. This pass
is 4370 meters high. After several hours trekking on the Turbulung
Glacier, you reach at the top of the last pass and then go down
until reach at the Turbulung river. Your camp site today is just
by this river.
Day
10 Continue your trek between this valley.
This is a easy day, no more big pass and mostly keep going down.
The camp site for this day is at Takedjialu. It takes only 5 hours
to finish this distance between Turbulung and Tekadjialu.
Day
11 Reserve day
Day 12 Keep your trekking following
this Turbulung river until reach at the Kangxiwa River. The camp
site today is at a place called Tukuzbluk. On this day, a huge
mountain appears into your eyes. Yes, you are right, that is Mt
Mustahg Ata but on the Northwest side. The looking of this peak
is much different. It seems too sharp cliff but not big , long
slope. The glacier at the foot of this peak looks whiter, cleaner
and much bigger.
Day
13 This is the last trekking day. The
trail looks more easy but still keep climbing until arrive at
the biggest village in this area which is Subash just located
next to the Karakul Lake.
Day
14 After your breakfast, you will say good
bye to your camel drivers and take a ride to go down to Kashgar.
Lunch will be served at a restaurant in Wupa village, which is
on the way to Kashgar. Arriver at Kshgar in the late afternoon
and check in your hotel for night.
Day
15 It must be Sunday today. As you know,
people will spend all day in the famous Sunday-market. Sunday
is bazaar day in Kashgar, site of perhaps the largest and longest
running bazaar in Central Asia. As many as 100,000 people come
in from surrounding areas to buy and sell animals and goods. Early
in the morning you can see streams of people in donkey carts coming
in to market. There are separate areas for animals, furniture,
fabric, clothing, shish kebobs, shaves with a straight razor (including
scalp), fruits and vegetables, and much more. In the animal bazaar
care needs to be exhibited as horses and donkeys are being "test-driven".
Also in the animal bazaar you can find cattle, sheep, goats, and
camels - all in a fairly small, walled-in area. When you are in
the midst of all this, you may feel like you have stepped back
in time several hundred years. After breakfast you will be free
to roam the
bazaar or to go along with a guide who will translate Uighur for
you. Stay in your Hotel
Day
16 After Sunday bazaar, you will have to catch up your
schedule to reach at the Tuogart Pass on the border and say Good
Bye to your Chinese team and reach at Naryn again from the Chinese
side. All the services in China are over. This
trip ends as you exit China through the Tuogart Pass by bus to
enter into Kyrgyzstan. Our best partner, ITMC Tien-Shan, the best
agency in Kyrgyzstan, will take a good care of you there. Here
is their address: itmc@elcat.kg. Please go and read their web
